day in life carter blogsOver the coming weeks we will be publishing a series of blog posts that will give you a behind the scenes look at our team. This week we begin with Carter Harrison who is the digital marketing executive at the business. We have asked Carter a number of questions to which he has given his own personal answers too, throughout the blog he reflects on his apprenticeship, the working environment at Titan and any lessons he has learned since beginning his career as a digital marketer.

Tell us about yourself and your role within Titan?

My name is Carter Harrison and I am the digital marketing executive at Titan, my role entails overseeing all marketing operations at the business across our social media channels and creating new content that the people who use our business can engage with.

How do you begin your day?

On a general office day I get up around 06.00 and get a coffee, I tend to skip breakfast which probably isn’t the best because by 11.00 I’m starving as my colleagues are well aware of but a coffee is a must in the morning to wake myself up. Since I am working from home I get up a little later than usual, get my coffee and then watch some morning news while creating a schedule for the day on my laptop before starting work at 09.00.

What can’t you live without when in a working environment?

I love my music, so I can’t live without the office radio, when I’m working from home I love to have my headphones in. Music allows me to focus and become more creative when innovating videos, images or general day to day content to post on the Titan social media platforms. I also think my singing has given myself and my colleagues a few laughs in the office, it’s also a bit of fun to showcase my skills that I may or may not have.

What is your daily routine?

I begin my working day with a remote meeting with Jim Gallagher the managing director at Titan to have a general discussion on the marketing of the business and this also gives us both an opportunity to share ideas that for the future.

Once completed I log into my emails to check for any information or missed communication with my connections since the day before. I will then check for any applications we have received through our website and social media and then I begin to create the content scheduled for that day this could be a Video, presentation, image or a blog post ect.

What’s your favourite part of your working environment?

At Titan we have a small knit team that has a family feel to it, since beginning my journey at the business my colleagues have took me under their wing and helped and supported me throughout my apprenticeship. I have been fortunate enough to work in several organisations however Titan just has a different feel to it as it’s somewhere you want to come in to work and do your best to help yourself and the business reach the goals set out at the beginning of the year. So my favourite part of our working environment is the team itself and how we are all as one and in it together.

What’s the most valuable lesson you have learned throughout your Career?

The biggest lesson I have learned since beginning my career as a digital marketer is that mistakes and failure are both good because in order to create success you need to make the mistakes to learn from them and try to make the necessary changes when it arrives the second time round.

At first I was scared of my work not being good enough or not hitting my targets but as time has gone on I have realised it’s a process of elimination and whatever doesn’t work allows me to gain beneficial  feedback. So my attitude towards failure and mistakes is positive and I don’t fear it because I learned that it’s okay to fall down sometimes it’s how you get back up that counts.
