Over the last year I have been carrying out my Modern Apprenticeship through QA Apprenticeships and Titan Recruitment
Throughout the year I have gained and developed some key skills that will benefit me over the course and distance of my career. I can now proudly say that I have completed my apprenticeship which is such a personal achievement for myself especially the way 2020 planned out.
As much as 2020 has been a rocky year, I will always remember it for my achievement in this that will allow me to start my career as a young Digital Marketing Executive with Titan Recruitment.
Throughout my apprenticeship I completed numerous units that covered a wide range of subjects and to be honest I was so surprised how much information and knowledge I had to gain in order to complete and pass my unit assessments, however there wasn’t one bit that wasn’t enjoyable.
As a young employee it can be very daunting heading into a business with no qualification and having just left school, and for myself, the apprenticeship gave me confidence because although I didn’t know much about the long term career path for this role, I was hungry to learn and develop, so instead of having the daunting feeling of the unknown in your first few months, an apprenticeship breaks that down for you and allows you to get advice and assistance whenever needed for you to begin a career in your chosen field.
From the point of view of an employer, Jim has felt that the structured training available to me through QA took a lot of the burden in that area away from him and his own input in my development was more about becoming an integral part of the team and learning about how the business operates and my role in it.
This last year I have achieved many personal goals I never thought would be possible and I feel as well as my own work, my success has been helped greatly by the support bubble I had in place so I personally owe a thank you to those involved with the QA and those who represented me, Brian McCarthy and Eve Chaplin if it wasn’t for your support and advice I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Another thank you I would to give out is to Jim Gallagher for allowing me this opportunity at Titan to take control of the business on a digital front and really believing in me. The support he and my colleagues have given me allowed me to gain confidence and gain knowledge and skills that support me when in a working environment.
2020 was a tough year for us all but I wont remember it for that reason, I will remember it for completing and passing my apprenticeship and hopefully I will be able to look back in a few years’ time and safely say it has set me up for life.
